Work Experience
As part of the Sixth Form curriculum, we offer students the opportunity to take part in a work experience placement on their off-site learning day. Work experience gives students an insight into the world of work and allows them to try something new, develop their skill set and increase their independence.
The Work Experience Journey
- Students will meet with our on-site work experience coordinator to discuss their aspirations and where they would like to complete a placement. We work closely with local employers to provide meaningful work placements.
- Students are supported in applying for work experience opportunities using our online form.
- Before starting placement, students will visit the work place. This is an opportunity to see the working environment, meet staff and ask questions. Support is also given in helping students manage their time and plan their route to placement.
- Students will take part in a placement for six week initially. Students will check in with our co-ordinator at the start and end of their shift. They will work towards targets, have regular check ins and document their progress in a work booklet.
We have lots of placements available both on and off-site across different industries.
