At Selly Oak Trust School we are proud of our values and do all we can to support students to have positive social interactions and friendships in person and online. We have recently been awarded the Silver Anti-Bullying Quality Mark in recognition of the high quality and impactful work we do to support students.

Occasionally students report bullying concerns and we take every concern very seriously.

We address bullying concerns under our S.T.O.P agenda which stands for ‘Several Times on Purpose’. This approach is reinforced and taught in every part of school life and most notably in assemblies; our Skills for Life curriculum and through wider work in our school community.

When a student has a concern, they fill out a STOP Form (see below). A STOP Form can be found in all classrooms, with all staff, and can also be found in student reception. Students can fill out these forms independently, with the support of a member of staff or with a friend or one of our Peer Support students. They are then placed into our STOP Form Box, which is checked daily.

Our STOP Form is available from Student Reception & all classrooms

We understand that as our students learn to grow into responsible young adults, they may need support with their social interactions at times. We also know the importance of helping our young people develop strategies to prevent bullying and report it if it happens.  We strive to support students and families to make sure that if there are any bullying concerns, that these are dealt with quickly and supportively, for all students involved.
